Chicken Soup

All right, already! I’ve had this stomach thing since Friday and I’m tired of it. The symptoms change nearly daily, but they have one thing in common: excessive fatigue. I have absolutely no energy. This morning, I had a coffee date with a friend, and by the time I got home, I could do nothing else. Even though I was supposed to make lunch, Doug stepped in, and he even made supper. My mom said chicken soup was good for everything, so that’s what he made. Time will tell whether mom was right about this. It ought to be fairly obvious that I accomplished absolutely nothing today. Thankfully, my life-changing resolution doesn’t start unti September 1. I womder what happens to such resolutions in the face of days like today.

OK, that’s it; I’m tired.

  1. You keep them! That’s why they’re called resolutions, and that’s why you make them….cause you know there will be days like today!

  2. If September 1st ends up being a day like today, then your resolution doesn’t have to fall apart – a day is a day. Resolutions, in the face of days like today, can continue so long as you remain committed! It’s like when I have friends who smoke and are trying to quit. They may get all down on themselves because they cheated one day and had a cigarette — but I tell them, no, don’t let this drag you down. Keep pushing, smoke less, you CAN do it.

When you start your new exercise/healthy living plan (whatever that means for you), I will be here encouraging you to keep on keepin’ on, even when there are days that may be regarded as “failures” or less than expected. You put that day behind you, and move onto the next day!

    Love you,
    Michael

    • Michael, you are wise beyond your years (if you will forgive the platitude), and that’s one of the many, many reasons I love you and am blessed to have you as a friend.  Love, gail
